Three Things that Attract Skunks to Your Home

Skunks are one animal that you don’t want to be attracted to your home. Even though everyone shares the same view, many people still do things that attract skunks to their property.  The below article offers a few guidelines and tips to help you to stop attracting skunks to your property.

Get rid of pet food – for those of you who have outdoor pets then you will need to be sure and get rid of your pets food by night time.  This will not only help to keep skunks away but other animals such as opossums and stray dogs.

Put your trash in trash cans – This sounds easy enough to do, but you would be surprised at how many people will simply leave their trash on the ground outside in a trash bag.  Doing this is just like a buffet to skunks.

Keeping your yard dark – skunks are afraid of predators seeing them and because of this they will avoid all artificial light.  So if you keep your yard dark, the skunk will visit your yard more frequently because it will feel safer in it.
